About Sasha Thackaberry

Sasha Thackaberry is the director of eLearning technologies in the Office of eLearning and Innovation (eLi) at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C). She is responsible for three main focal areas – propelling institutional innovation, managing the eLearning technology infrastructure team, and implementing Quality Matters and instructional design and development projects college-wide. She is the project lead on Tri-C’s CBE program development with Educause’s Breakthrough Models Incubator. Current focus areas include Competency-Based Education, Prior Learning Assessment, MOOCs for developmental education, and the use of game mechanics to improve student resilience. She is one recipient of the 2014 MOOC Award for CourseWare Excellence as well as the Innovation of the Year Award in 2010. Thackaberry has published articles in the journals Internet Learning and Distance Learning, eLearn Magazine, and an OLC (formerly Sloan-C) Effective Practice for the Faculty Instructional Design Toolkit.
