I agree with you, math is the place for us to start in understanding what's going on around us.  You might want to take a look at my site, &lt;a href="http://scalefree.net"&gt;ScaleFree.net&lt;/a&gt;.  I've got a running series called NetTraq, extracting new papers as they're published on self organization, network theory, etc., from &lt;a href="http://arxiv.org"&gt;arXiv.org&lt;/a&gt;.  Coming soon I'll be expanding it to include mailiing lists, a searchable database &#038; wiki.
