If I could have gotten the same data using a WordPress plugin, I would have done it that way, but I couldn't find the appropriate plugin and don't have the skill to write one myself. Even before it was acquired by Google, it was a pernicious service, collecting metrics for its own purposes, inserting ads, displaying unexplained and intolerably long response times, and indirecting URLs.
